Believe in Magic

I was in Austin at the Cenote Cafe I was searching for the best chai in Austin, which so far I’d say Cenote Cafe wins. But, as I parked behind the cafe, I saw this sign spray painted on a wall. It called for a song, and here it is.

The Only Magic

I watched a man in tux and tails

Invoke the great beyond.

Make a rabbit disappear

With one wave of his wand.

I was a true believer

When he produced a dove

But the only magic I still believe in is love love love.

 

My daddy had a deck of cards

He did little shows.

Telepathy and esp

revealed which card I chose.

How else could he discover

What I was thinking of?

But the only magic I still believe in is love love love.

 

Love can saw your heart in two

Or fix it up like it’s brand new.

Love can stick like superglue

Or disappear like cash

And vanish in a flash.

 

Along the way I’m sad to say

Illusions are revealed.

Break the spell and you can tell

What’s fake and what is real.

I’ve never seen a miracle

Sent from  up above.

And the only magic I still believe in is

love love love.
