I am a Kennedy Center Teaching Artist. Inclusion in this program requires an intensive process of creating and developing three-hour workshops that make specific connections between an art form and a curriculum area.

The Teacher as Storyteller: Building Story Comprehension in Beginning Readers. Using Storytelling to build reading comprehension in emerging readers. Teachers of students grades k-3.
Singing the Words. Using lyric writing to build student learning in a variety of subjects. Available as a 1, 2, or 4 session course. Teachers of students grades k-7.
An introduction to Arts Integration: Stuart leads this workshop, which was developed by the Kennedy Center.
I work with Kennedy Center partners or school districts to organize and lead teacher institutes, which can be 1-3 days of intensive focus on arts-integrated approaches, skill building, and specific workshops, often with a variety of teaching artists.
