I’ve always had a soft spot for libraries. Ever since we’d go to the Chicago Public Library branch around the corner from our house, I’ve felt comfortable and inspired by what I find there. When I’m traveling, I know that a library is always a good place to spend some time.
There’s also the little free library song, and my book about Lutie Stearns, for those who are way into libraries.
I began singing this song during last year’s summer reading library programs. Easy to learn, easy to sing, easy to add motions to, easy to make up new verses.
Now go to the library.
At the library
Always something for you
Always something for me
Always something for everyone
At the library.
Everything you’re needing
For light summer reading
Dime store novels and magazines
True crime chillers
Romantic thrillers
Rolling Stone and Seventeen
If you have a question
Walk up to the desk and
Friendly librarians help you out
Fact or fiction
No matter which one
Find out what it’s all about
Quite a selection in
in every section
Vampires, hobbits and musketeers.
Like wisdom in a bottle
There’s Aristotle and
All the plays of William Shakespeare.
