When we were in Scotland over the summer I ran across this organization. It’s called Playlist for Life. It helps people to compile playlists for older folks with dementia. They do other support around music and memory, but I really liked the idea of being systematic about it. Imagine the comfort that would come from hearing music that’s meaningful and reminiscent of your life.
It also makes me wonder what I’d put on my playlist…
Dylan. The Beatles. Carole King. Jethro Tull. John Hiatt.
What songs make you want to sing along, even if it’s only in the shower?
Those are the songs that belong there.
